Fire and Blood: The First Burning of Sunspear

Inspired by George R. R. Martin's latest book "Fire and Blood". Warning, this post burns brightly and is full of spoilers! Come to think on it, I'm sure it's the dragons that did the burning, but oh well, there were many skirmishes and such.

I'm only maybe 50 pages through but the book is so good. It's written from the viewpoint of some historian maester as a history of the Targaryens in Westeros, and is full of well-written imagery and dramatic energy.

This book-inspired raw fractal is part of a new series after a long break (2 weeks, wow long break). But when you make art every day there's always the question, "Will I make more art? Is this it? Will I ever get better?" and I really seem to have discovered the nature of the many evolutions my art has taken - if there's curiosity, there will always be more art in one form or style or another. Strange how it comes down to curiosity, but really a driving force for making fractals or anything visual art related is "Hmm I wonder how this will look..." and just following that thread until you've satisfied your curiosity for one run.

Anyway, come to think of it, this could also very well be interpreted as the Coronation in Oldtown because you can sorta see all the banners and stuff gathered on the parapets and blowing in the wind. Part of a recurring theme in the beginning of the book is that when Aegon I first came to Westeros, the Targaryens were for sure conquerors but they were a welcome unifying force because the Seven Kingdoms were constantly warring and fighting amongst each other. So they were seen rather positively for this in many aspects, and the line of light can be interpreted as the procession going through the great city.
