So there was this artistic prompt I scrolled by the other day, "do you make any art that speaks about your neurodiversity or disability?" But it got me thinking: that most of my gallery has come about by not giving into conforming or defining ableism, but by working within the "confines" of my disability to find new worlds, styles and capabilities. So when I'm doing my art I really feel comfortable and don't see much of a disability at all, but rather just part of my toolkit that makes my art what it is, gives it dimension and depth, color and life. It's a bit like harnessing a black hole, kind of a force of nature that you just accept and let it empower you.
